Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MaxFeeder (the "Service"), operated by Gargoyle Labs LLC ("Gargoyle Labs", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

MaxFeeder aggregates content from RSS/Atom feeds, news sites, YouTube channels, and — if you connect it — your Bluesky timeline, and displays it on one page. The content itself is created and owned by its publishers; we simply fetch and display it. We do not guarantee that any feed or source will be available, complete, or up to date.

2. Accounts

You may use MaxFeeder anonymously, or create an account to save preferences. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Paying for Pro

MaxFeeder is free to use, with a limit on the number of feeds. An optional Pro upgrade removes that limit and unlocks cross-device sync and Bluesky Following. How you pay depends on where you buy it, and the two work differently:

On our website (billed through Stripe): $1.49 per month or $12 per year, plus any applicable taxes. These renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal in your account; cancelling stops future renewals and your Pro access continues to the end of the period you already paid for.
In the iOS app (billed through Apple): $12 for one year, plus any applicable taxes. This purchase does not renew. Pro ends automatically when the year is up, and nothing is charged again unless you choose to buy another year. We will email you before it expires.
Price changes: we may change prices. For website subscriptions, changes apply to renewals after reasonable notice. A one-year purchase is unaffected for the year you have already paid for.

Refunds

Bought on our website: contact us and we will refund the unused portion of your current period, calculated pro rata from the day you ask.
Bought in the iOS app: Apple collects the payment and handles all refunds for App Store purchases — we are not able to issue one directly. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us as well and we will give you whatever purchase details help support your request.
Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law in your country, which may give you more than this section does.

If we have to shut MaxFeeder down

MaxFeeder is run by a small team, and we would rather tell you plainly what happens than leave it to a clause reserving every right to ourselves. If we decide to discontinue the Service:

We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email to the address on your account, before Pro access stops.
We will stop selling new Pro purchases and renewals as soon as we make that decision, so nobody pays for time we know we cannot deliver.
Website purchases: we will refund the unused portion of your paid period, pro rata, without you having to ask.
App Store purchases: we cannot refund these ourselves, so we will notify Apple and give you the purchase details needed to request a refund from Apple directly.
Your feeds are yours. Export them as OPML — the standard format every RSS reader imports — at any time, and we will keep export working for the whole notice period so you can move to another reader without losing your setup.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for anything unlawful; attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service; circumvent rate limits or access controls; or use it in a way that infringes others' rights. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Third-party content and feeds

Content shown in MaxFeeder belongs to the respective publishers and is subject to their terms. We do not endorse it and are not responsible for it. If you believe content displayed via the Service infringes your copyright, contact us at support@maxfeeder.com and we will address valid requests, including removing the offending source.

6. Connected accounts (e.g. Bluesky)

If you connect a third-party account, you authorize us to access it on your behalf to fetch the content you request (for example, your Bluesky Following timeline). Credentials such as a Bluesky app password are stored encrypted and used only server-side to fetch your content. You can disconnect at any time in the feed editor.

7. Intellectual property

The MaxFeeder application, name, and design are owned by Gargoyle Labs LLC. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that feeds will always load.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gargoyle Labs LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or, if you have not paid us, USD $50).

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, from the account menu in any MaxFeeder app or on the website. Deleting your account permanently removes your feeds, saved items, reading history and any connected accounts.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. If we discontinue the Service, the notice period and refund commitments in Section 3 apply.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Michigan will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of these Terms or the Service.
